Main focus is on the role of puppetry in exploring my own life with chronic illness and disability but also how puppetry is a valuable tool to bring greater awareness of disability.
The video is divided up in several sections so can be viewed over time. English and Spanish subtitles available. Related blog link about the then 23 year long creative journey .

A podcast with Emma Windsor – then of Puppet Place in Bristol – about my puppetry work can be viewed at Google Drive.

Travels with ME (5.51) 2018 is a short film about the making of Póilin Puppet and our travels to the UK. As well as the aftermath of this regarding my health. We were invited to Nottingham Puppetry Festival and as Keynote to Broken Puppet 2 in Bath.

Dance of Life

Dance of Life (0.56) a trial piece using animated figures sharing the interdependence of two people. Filmed at Dzogchen Beara in West Cork.

Life Outside the Box and Nationwide

During 2015 I facilitated a puppet making project with my fellow members of the Irish Wheelchair Association. Our resulting film: ‘Life Outside the Box” (04.21) was funded by Create, artist in the community scheme. And every three months an abstract of this is shown on the ‘People’s Angelus on national TV.

Nationwide came to film in my home and studio to talk about this project and the teaching I did in my studio.

Fit to Fly and Flight Path

Artist David Begley (2003) created an extraordinary documentary of my early years of living with ME. “Fit to Fly” can be seen in two parts: PART 1 (8.06), and PART 2 (7.03). This was supported by a grant. His work was adapted by RTE Nationwide and was aired on ME Awareness Day 2004.

Katie Lincoln created a short documentary ‘Flight Path’ to accompany my first book Hatched, in 2006 (6.05) and was supported By Arts Council of Ireland.

Puppet making course

All my puppet making course videos are now free for the public to view. These were made to support students. But as I can no longer teach, I have made them public. There are accompanying books available on ISSUU
